OK, OK, you win Apple — I give in

This is fantastic, thank you Joan. I feel the same about Evernote, and my personal writing/organizing system has never fully recovered since its complete Enshittification.

In some ways, it’s a good idea to just give into Apple. Their system (naturally) biases towards their own apps, and it always feels a little like you’re fighting against them if you’re not using their native apps.

First step: I just upgraded to Logic Pro and Final Cut. It was exhausting dealing with ProTools and Premiere – both great products, ruined by greedy coercive companies.

I hope that Apple realizes what a subtly significant product advantage this is. And commits to it long term. I’m so tired of watching product after product get destroyed by boardrooms and beancounters.
